d’Arenberg
McLaren Vale

In 1912 Joseph Osborn purchased a well established vineyard in the hills just north of the township of McLaren Vale. Joseph’s son Frank built d’Arenberg’s cellars in 1928. By 1943 Frank’s son started at d’Arenberg and in 1957 “d’Arry” bottled the first of his famous diagonal red stripe labelled wines. In 1998 fourth generation Chester won the inaugural Winestate Australian Winemaker of the Year Award and d’Arenberg was named one of the top 70 wineries in the world by the US Wine and Spirit magazine.
